Sodium cyanide plays an essential role in gold and silver mining, as well as in metallurgy. Sodium cyanide is widely used in the cyanidation process, the main method of extracting gold and silver from ores. The advantage of this method is the high efficiency of metal extraction, as well as cost-effectiveness and reliability.
Sodium cyanide is used to purify metals from impurities, for example, to separate gold from other metals. Sodium cyanide is also included in the composition of electrolytes used for galvanization of metals, such as gold, silver and copper, which plays an important role in the jewelry and electronics industries. It is used for heat treatment of steel.
In the chemical industry, sodium cyanide is used as a raw material for the production of organic compounds, such as nitriles, which are used in the pharmaceutical and textile industries, as well as in the production of plastics. The advantages of using sodium cyanide are high chemical reactivity and versatility of use. Ammonium sulfate is in demand among tanneries and agricultural producers in Kazakhstan.
The plant’s capacity is 15 000 tons of sodium cyanide and 5 000 tons of ammonium sulfate per year. To this date, the company has achieved stable performance and produces about 1 250 tons of sodium cyanide per month. The plant's products are in high demand due to their quality and compliance with modern standards.
The sodium cyanide plant is the only chemical industry enterprise in Kazakhstan that manufactures this product. Sodium cyanide is used in gold mining and metallurgy, agriculture and light industry. Before the launch of production, sodium cyanide was imported.
